Food
What a stand at WorldFood Istanbul has to solve
At a food fair the visitor does not look at the product, they taste it — and the stand has to be built for that.
- 01A tasting counter needs a seamless, wipeable top — compact laminate or stainless steel stays cleanable for four days.
- 02A demo kitchen needs water, drainage, extraction and its own power circuit; all of it is ordered from the organiser in advance and has to be placed on the stand plan.
- 03Chilled and frozen display units bring both an electrical load and heat; that heat has to be kept away from the meeting area and from the spotlights.
- 04A tasting queue and a buyer meeting cannot share the same square metres; the flow has to be planned so the two never cut across each other.
- 05Washing-up, waste and packaging storage belong out of the visitor’s line of sight but one step away from the counter.
Venues
İstanbul Fuar Merkezi (CNR Expo Yeşilköy)
İstanbul Fuar Merkezi (CNR Expo Yeşilköy) is a fairground in Yeşilköy, Bakırköy, close to the shoreline and the city centre, and one that publishes the technical data for each of its halls on its own site.
- Halls
- Numbered halls, Salon 01 to Salon 11
- Salon 01
- 10,800 m² · 14.00 m clear height · 5.80 m maximum stand height · 2,250 kg/m² floor load · 700 kW
- Salon 04
- 11,200 m² · 10.40 m clear height · 2,250 kg/m² floor load · 800 kW
- Salon 09
- 5,390 m² · 9.00 m clear height · 5.80 m maximum stand height · 2,250 kg/m² floor load · 400 kW
- Air and water pressure
- 5–7 bar compressed air, 4–6 bar water (as listed for halls 01 and 09)
Every hall has its own data sheet — read yours
İFM publishes area, clear height, maximum stand height, floor load capacity, door dimensions and power supply for each hall on its own site — one of the few Turkish fairgrounds that does. The values differ substantially between halls: clear height runs from 9.00 m to 14.00 m across the halls we were able to verify. So there is no such thing as “the İFM height limit”; you read the sheet for whichever hall your stand falls in.
Freight door sizes differ hall to hall
Three verified examples show the spread: the A door of Salon 01 is 700 × 1,088 cm, Salon 09’s is 620 × 740 cm and Salon 04’s is 564 × 564 cm. Your largest single piece — a plinth, a machine, a gantry arriving assembled — has to pass through that opening. Splitting the piece is a design decision and it cannot be taken before the door size is known; cutting it on site later is both restricted and visible in the finished stand.
A 2,250 kg/m² floor
All three halls we verified publish a floor load capacity of 2,250 kg/m². If you are showing heavy machinery, stone blocks or loaded racking, the calculation runs off that figure — what matters is the pressure under each foot, not the total weight. Where the load stays concentrated at a point, a steel plate or a distribution platform goes in. Still confirm the value on your own hall’s sheet.

WorldFood Istanbul: common questions
When and where does WorldFood Istanbul take place?
WorldFood Istanbul runs from 15–18 December 2026 at İstanbul Fuar Merkezi (CNR Expo Yeşilköy) in İstanbul.
Venue and month belong to the edition rather than to the fair, and both can change from year to year — several fairs on this list have moved venue or slot. Always confirm the dates and the hall against the organiser’s own announcement.
What drives the stand design for WorldFood Istanbul?
The design is driven by what the product on show asks of the stand, not by the name of the fair: at a food fair the visitor does not look at the product, they taste it — and the stand has to be built for that.
A tasting counter needs a seamless, wipeable top — compact laminate or stainless steel stays cleanable for four days.
What should you watch for when building a stand at İstanbul Fuar Merkezi (CNR Expo Yeşilköy)?
İstanbul Fuar Merkezi publishes a technical sheet for every hall on its own site, so stand design starts from figures rather than assumptions — but the figures differ by hall: across the halls we verified, clear height runs from 9.00 m to 14.00 m, floor load capacity is 2,250 kg/m², and freight door widths range from 564 cm to 700 cm.

So there is no such thing as “the İFM height limit”; you read the sheet for whichever hall your stand falls in.
When should preparation for a stand at WorldFood Istanbul start?
Preparation is planned backwards from the organiser’s deadlines rather than from the fair dates: the day the stand drawings go in for approval, the day the power and rigging applications close, and the hour the build-up window opens. For this fair the fixed point is 15–18 December 2026, and the schedule is built back from there.
At quotation stage we need four things: the plot number and hall, the plot dimensions, the plot type (island, corner, in-line or peninsula) and the organiser’s technical manual for that edition. If the plot has not been allocated yet, design starts from the most restrictive assumption and is updated once the allocation arrives.
Who approves the stand drawings for WorldFood Istanbul?
The stand drawings are approved by the fair authority — that is, the organiser, which for this fair is ICA Fuarcılık A.Ş. (ICA Events). Approval comes before build-up, and we prepare and submit the file as the contractor.
The file generally contains dimensioned plans and elevations, heights, the materials used and their fire classification, and the electrical load list — plus structural calculations and engineer sign-off where there is a second storey or any rigging. Deviating from the approved drawing on site can end in an instruction to dismantle.
