What a stand at Yapı has to solve
Building products are heavy and they sell on the detail; the stand has to carry both.
- 01Tile, stone, façade panel and glass samples are heavy; the display wall is fixed to a calculated steel or timber substructure, never to plasterboard.
- 02Visitors ask about the junction, not the product; a 1:1 sectional mock-up does more work than a layered diagram.
- 03Floor space is expensive at these fairs and teams are large; moving the meeting area upstairs on a double-decker leaves the ground floor to the product.
- 04On a double-decker, structural calculations, engineer sign-off and authority approval belong inside the design schedule — they are not a step you add later.
- 05Cutting and dust-producing work is restricted on the fairground, so heavy materials are prepared in the workshop and only assembled on site.

The halls are column-free
All fourteen halls are column-free. In design terms that removes an effort spent at most fairgrounds: the plan does not have to work around a column, sightlines across an island stand stay open, and a long display wall can run uninterrupted. Even so, column, duct and drain positions on the plot are always confirmed against the hall plan.
Ask the organiser for the height limit
Tüyap does not publish a per-hall maximum stand height on its public pages. That does not mean there is no limit: there is one, and it comes from the technical regulations for the specific fair. The practical consequence is simple — if you are exhibiting at Tüyap, ask the organiser for that edition’s manual before design starts. Assuming a height from a number found online is a mistake that cannot be corrected on build-up day.
Outside the city centre
The venue sits outside the city centre, so both freight and the crew’s daily travel have to be planned around Istanbul traffic. On fairs with a tight build-up window that is a real line in the plan: housing the crew near the site often costs less than a day of lost overtime.

When and where does Yapı take place?
Yapı runs from 27–30 April 2027 at Tüyap Fuar ve Kongre Merkezi in İstanbul.
Venue and month belong to the edition rather than to the fair, and both can change from year to year — several fairs on this list have moved venue or slot. Always confirm the dates and the hall against the organiser’s own announcement.

When should preparation for a stand at Yapı start?
Preparation is planned backwards from the organiser’s deadlines rather than from the fair dates: the day the stand drawings go in for approval, the day the power and rigging applications close, and the hour the build-up window opens. For this fair the fixed point is 27–30 April 2027, and the schedule is built back from there.
At quotation stage we need four things: the plot number and hall, the plot dimensions, the plot type (island, corner, in-line or peninsula) and the organiser’s technical manual for that edition. If the plot has not been allocated yet, design starts from the most restrictive assumption and is updated once the allocation arrives.
Who approves the stand drawings for Yapı?
The stand drawings are approved by the fair authority — that is, the organiser, which for this fair is ICA Build / ICA Events. Approval comes before build-up, and we prepare and submit the file as the contractor.
The file generally contains dimensioned plans and elevations, heights, the materials used and their fire classification, and the electrical load list — plus structural calculations and engineer sign-off where there is a second storey or any rigging. Deviating from the approved drawing on site can end in an instruction to dismantle.
